Chi Sau Ring used more so in Chinese martial arts. Traditionally made from bamboo and about the size of a basketball in diameter, practitioners would place their arms through the ring until it reached their elbows to practice Kakier and close quarter sparring. Dramatically helping practitioners get used to keeping their elbows in covering the floating ribs. The Okinawan masters took this piece of equipment one-step further and produced it from iron, weighing around 10kg in weight they would make intermediate karate-ka practice daily. The benefits being in the strength of the shoulders in long bouts of combat and an amazing ability to fight head on, yet keep all parts of the body protected.
