As practitioners of the beautiful arts of Okinawa we set up Chinahand, with one goal, to produce and supply high quality traditional martial arts equipment to enthusiastic and devoted martial artists and Shihan’s across Europe

We design and produce our own products with Karate in mind. Our clothes are influenced by Karate, our equipment is produced for Karate and we are also authorised European stockists of the world famous Shureido brand.

We wanted to specialise in a specific area (that being Karate). So we decided to create a brand that will be recognised for quality products, selling the very best equipment for serious Karate-ka.

My background is clothes design and tailoring and my love is Traditional Okinawan Goju-ryu. The combination is simple, active clothing for both leisure and training, influenced heavily by the martial arts in terms of both design and prints etc. But made, as you would expect from a modern upmarket fashion influenced brand. You will find there are pieces to be worn daily and cool items to be worn to and from the dojo.

My background is architecture, my love is Goju-ryu. I wanted to update the training equipment used in traditional karate, so I started with the design of the Tetsu sashi and Kongo Ken to reproduction quality. We are able to produce the equipment to an exact weight and finish, which means you can trust in the Chinahand brand to deliver the very best Hojo undo equipment and quality every time.
